running down a dream once again

I ran 2 miles last night 4 days post-marathon and it didn't hurt a bit.

I scheduled 25 elementary school disaster education presentations yesterday through the YMCA, no matter what Mary has to say about it. I'll do them all myself if I have to, and if I burn out, then so be it. I'd rather be too busy than be bored.

I figured out what looks to be a viable option for my vacation days-an Outward Bound Swap-Ya course in Minnesota at the end of April: http://www.outwardboundwilderness.org/course/minnesota_alumni_service_week_168.html Several days of work, a couple days of play, and all I have to pay for is airfare and a $25 deposit. The only trick is that doing that would mean not running the Frederick 1/2 Marathon, so we shall see if North Carolina OB schedules something similar down in south Florida.

In other words, it's a good day. No ranting necessary.

But you know I won't let you burn out--I'll take a few days off and do some of them for you if need be.

Is that OB trip open to anybody? That sounds really cool.

I'm going to warn you that late April in Minnesota can be lovely, but typically it's wet windy and miserable.

Never mind--I see it's just for OB alumni. I never got the chance to get into that, and I wish I had.

Even way far north in Minnesota? I'd fly into Duluth, most likely-the course is in Ely.

Especially way north. Maybe not as windy but not a guaranteed beautiful time.

25 presentations at the Y???!?!?!? How spread out are they? My hat goes off to you... I'd have gone bonkers.

25 presentations every month, at YMCA after-school programs all over Frederick County. Fortunately, I already have one of those presentations for January covered, so I'm going a little less bonkers right now. :P
