Life is good

It's 70 degrees and chilly here and it's snowing up in Maryland. I went running outside today and was drenched in sweat in about 5 minutes. I loved it, except when the sunscreen dripped in my eyes.

And my internet on my laptop works now, thanks to the cooler than cool guy that was in the tech. services office at 11 on a Sunday morning. I'm on my new computer right now, having fun on IM. And yes, I got my work done before I got on. 40 pages for South Florida History and a chapter for nutrition.

Any other news around here? Well, I have my half-marathon in a week, so wish me luck. And a weekend after that I'm going to the Everglades with my history class. And the weekend after that I'm going to the Everglades with the other NSE students. And the weekend after that I'm going to the Everglades with my grandparents. And no, I won't get tired of it. Hee hee. I love it here. Real Key Lime Pie and sunshine and houses painted sunshine yellow. Miami is awesome.

well as we speak, I'm heading to the slopes for some snowboarding. enjoy your snow-less tropical 'paradise.' As if any place without snow could be considered a paradise. Almost paradise, maybe. A lame song for a lame place. Besides, with all the extra direct sunlight you get down there, you get more UV rays. Enjoy your skin cancer, Beth....

You sure are upbeat. Deprive me of my happiness, why don't you. I wouldn't give up the sunshine and palm trees for anything, especially winter. Snow is overrated-try running 13.1 9:12 miles in the 1/2 marathon yesterday. I sure wouldn't be doing that up in Maryland.
This place is more than palm trees and sunshine. This place is awesome, a multicultural mecca complete with awesome sunrises over the Biscayne Bay.
I'll take your comment as a moment of cynicism. I don't like Miami because of some song. I love it because I've never felt as alive as I do down here right now. I am loving life right now. Don't spoil it. :-)
And fyi, you don't get skin cancer just living down here. Do you really think I spend my days lying out on the beach and tanning? I'm smarter than that.

my, my beth...so testy! Sorry you took it all so harshly...and you know what? just to spite you, i'll come down there and run 13.2 9:11 miles. that'll show you :-P and the song was making fun of "almost paradise"...that stupid song from footloose...i had to perform that once and hated every second of it. And Miami WOULD be great...it just doesnt get any snow...thats what i was trying to tell you...it just needs snow...

Did you read my latest response, the one that told you to take with a grain of salt anything I say immediately after a race and on so little sleep?
I assumed you meant the Will Smith song because that's what my race report is named after and there's a link to it in one of my recent posts. It IS almost paradise down here (makes it kinda hard to study sometimes :-)), and we don't want snow. People down here wear sweatshirts when it dips below 60, so I'd hate to see what would happen if it got REALLY cold.
