Brain fried. Must sleep. Red wine good.
For the next week we have daily readings and 2 page reflections in addition to 6 hours of class each day. Tomorrow morning I head over to Algiers to observe in an elementary classroom. Thursday and Friday we get Crisis Intervention Training, and Monday and Tuesday we have Literacy Training. I'm tired just thinking about it. Red wine is good.
PS-I use this icon on my teaching entries because of the story of the starfish: you may not be able to reach them all, but for those you do reach the difference can mean everything. That's the key to being a teacher I think, remembering that if you make a difference in even one child's life it will have been worth it.

the story of the starfish
Sadly, from my experience the one-liner "thinking life will treat you fairly because you're a good person is like thinking a bull won't charge because you're a vegetarian" is equally valid and sometimes more palpable.
Sigh.
Sleep well, and blessings upon you and your work S-t.

I taught my last lesson today - the next week or so is given over to reviewing and testing. ^^
I love your starfish icon; that's a really good analogy. Good luck!

The program director for TGNO may know of job openings at Esperanza Charter up near City Park. I have a friend who teaches kindergarten there, so to be an early elementary special ed. teacher there would be fantastic.
