waaaaay too close to home

When I worked as a VISTA for the Red Cross in Frederick County, Maryland, I gave disaster education presentations at YMCA after-school programs with this man.  He wore the goofiest science t-shirts and hid under tables to show kids how to be safe in a tornado.  I knew he worked at Fort Detrick and I even knew he was under investigatation, but I had no idea he was being questioned by the FBI for his alleged involvement with the 2001 anthrax attacks that killed 5 people.  He committed suicide on Tuesday by overdosing on tylenol and codeine.

Happy Birthday to me!

On a happier note, tomorrow is my 25th birthday.  I plan to spend my birthday at Satchmo Summerfest.  Kermit Ruffins goes on at 5:15.  You know you want to spend your Sunday afternoon sweating and eating snowballs.
