it's really snowing

It's snowing. And it's sticking. And I'm afraid if I try and cut out of here early I'll have to take vacation time to do it, even though my presentation this afternoon was cancelled (schools letting out 3 1/2 hours early). Um, no. That's saved for the Mardi Gras 1/2 Marathon and Minnesota Outward Bound. On the plus side, at least it's not icing and if worse comes to worse I have a sleeping bag in my car. It's not dangerous (yet), it'll just make for a really long drive and lots of time to listen to The World is Flat. Besides it's really pretty.

Okay, so now I'm just rambling. I need to find some work to do.

Please let me know what you decide to do--it isn't much better here. An inch in 2 hours, and it's only getting worse.

And I've been reading the book this morning. You were right--it's really good.

So far, my plans are to wait to leave until 4:30, esp. after Leah made a big deal this morning about never closing. I suspect we could get 3 feet of snow and she'd still open the Red Cross, so oh well. Don't worry, I'll be careful and if it looks to be treacherous out there I'll hang out here until the salt trucks do their thing. And if it gets yucky on the way home, I'll pull over and read some Caribbean literature.

I won't tell you not to worry because I know about how useful THAT would be, but really, I'll be fine.

And it sounds like you're really committed to the Mardi Gras Half. If that's your plan/desire, I'll be there, so long as you want me to join you. :-) Wouldn't miss it.

And by the time it got to us it wasn't even pretty snow anymore-most of it was freezing rain and ice. Yuck.
