Quick update...I'm still on the same ERV with the same crew, but we've been moved out of the 9th Ward to Gentilly (yesterday) and Violet (today). I've been popping the cough drops like there's no tomorrow to fight the katrina crudt, and I just got back from a walmart run for a St. Patrick's Day headband and Hershey's kisses for the kids. Anything I can do to make the clients happy. I know a sparkly green headband would make me happy. :-)

Off to dinner and hurricanes at Copelands. I'll post a more detailed entry later.

I'll be making a trip to Gags & Gifts for something fun for St. Patrick's day myself in the next few days. Just wearing green beads won't cut it.

Like I said earlier, it sounds like the crudt is starting to work its way out of your system, since it's up to your nose. I think a couple days out of the ninth ward will really help.

And I promise, no more weird calls.

Eock onm Bethany.

If there's anything I can do to help yiou, not that there is - but you let me know.

I learned so much this past weekend. I'd love to talk with you about it sometime.

If you ever want to give me a call, when you have downtime or whatever, you're more than welcome to. My cell number's accessible from my userinfo page (click on the first post program link).

Tell you what-I'll call you sometime soon-I can't promise tomorrow 'cause I never know how the day is going to develop, but next Monday at the very latest. (I'm taking Monday off if I can help it.) I'll tell you my story thus far. After I'm done with this deployment, I'll write it up as an article or something, and you help me get the word out. That's what these people need more than anything else, to have someone know and care what's going on.

Plus, just talking about it helps a lot.

Oh, and talk me out of having too many hurricanes. Those drinks are powerful if you're not careful. Just like the real thing I guess.

And as my newfound friends and I were just talking about, hurricane season is only 83 days away. :-O

Adam -- glad to meet you. Those of us who knew Bethany in college always thought it was her turn to get lucky in love, and now it seems she has. :)

Ditto, Jeremy. And I'm the lucky one. She's an amazing woman, and I'm blessed to have her.

And thank you for helping to get the word out. The people of New Orleans are, as she's said numerous times, wonderful people. They deserve better than this.
