can't wait for July 21st
Jun. 9th, 2007 09:25 pmOn page 622 of Harry Potter 5, just before Dumbledore leaves Hogwarts, he turns to Harry to tell Harry to work harder at Occlumency and in that instant Harry feels pain shoot across his scar. That seems to only happen when someone evil is nearby, right? Do you think there's any possibility that Dumbledore's one of the bad guys? Otherwise, I have no idea what to make of that line.
Coleen and other Harry Potter fans, please help me out here. It doesn't seem possible, but it wouldn't be the first time there was a major plot twist. Now I really can't wait until the last book comes out.

Date: 2007-06-10 11:51 am (UTC)Harry's scar hurts if he's near/making a connection with Voldemort, not just any bad guy. I'm not even sure his scar hurt (just his head?) when Snape was digging around in his brain.
It *would* be an interesting plot twist. There was a moment in another book when Harry said he thought Dumbledore looked *satistfied* (or happy/content, something along those lines) when Harry told him something that would otherwise be bad news. But Harry chalked it up to his imagination, and nothing further was made of it.
It's all very interesting!

Date: 2007-06-11 04:40 pm (UTC)It's very interesting, though, to think that Snape may have been doing the right thing at the end of the 6th book. That someone really can change-go from being a Death Eater to defending all the Order of the Phoenix stands for.
That's why Harry Potter is so excellent-you can read the books just for the fun of it, or you can analyze them and pay attention to the details. There are just so many layers.
