back to Maryland for Christmas

Sunday, December 23rd-leave New Orleans 7:25 am and arrive St. Louis 9:15 am, then leave St. Louis 12:50 pm and arrive Baltimore 4:00 pm
Tuesday, January 1st-leave Baltimore 4:25 pm and arrive St. Louis 6:00 pm, then leave St. Louis 6:40 pm and arrive New Orleans 8:30 pm

That way not only am I away from New Orleans for the least amount of time possible while saving as much money as possible, but if I end up with a teaching job by the time I leave for Christmas, I won't have to ask for time off.  I'm glad I get to fly into Baltimore because as soon as I step off the plane and see all the crab souvenirs I'll know I'm in Maryland.  Maryland will always be home.  Just like when I step off the plane on the return trip and hear the brass band and smell the gumbo, I'll know I've made it back to New Orleans.

Yes D., I know 7:25 for the departing flight is crazy-early.  I should be at the airport by 6 am which may or may not fit with your schedule, but if you can't get me there I'll just get a cab.  The flight was dirt-cheap so that's not a big deal.

I'll be in Michigan the evening of the 25th through the morning of the 30th. Other than dinner with family on the 25th, I don't know what our plans are.

I never know ours until the day before (lately, anyway), but I'll try to get them ahead of time.

I'll also have to make sure that Janet understands that "I need this day off" doesn't mean "I need part of this day off."
