Every runner should volunteer at races every once in awhile. For one thing, it's the only way most of us will ever watch the winners cross the finish line, for another, you can find training partners. I now have a potential speedwork partner, though she's a lot faster than me it'll be good for me to do something other than long slow miles.
I love marathon recovery this time around. I love not going out for a run if I don't feel like it, and instead talking on the phone for hours or reading Caribbean literature. I spent most of 2005 training for one big race or another, so it's good to finally have some down time.
As far as the PFT goes, I did 100 situps and 35 pushups Saturday night and 3 sets of 4 exercises with free weights yesterday. I can feel it, just a little bit. I need to work on not taking breaks in the middle of sets of situps and pushups. I'll see what kind of progress I've made lately shortly-next weekend if not before.
