So I locked my keys in the car last night when I got out to scrape the ice off the windshield (for the 2nd or 3rd time, mind you). Beautiful day for such a brilliant mistake. Thank goodness for Red Cross volunteers in the locksmithing business, or that little mistake might have cost me 75 bucks, almost two days' pay on a VISTA stipend. I've run into a mailbox (not my own) and locked my keys in the car in 5 years of driving. Hopefully I've got that out of my system now.

Ice storms are yucky. That's all I have to say.

I've gone one worse--locked my keys in my car, with no cell phone, 75 miles away from home. With the car running. The car I have now has a failsafe on it--you can't lock the car, running or not, without the key, unless you're inside. I brushed the trash can this morning on my way out the driveway--no damage to the can, and thankfully I brushed it with my bumper, which is plastic.

Wish I was with you today. :-)
