I'm back to running already, and it's only been 4 days. 4 days of feeling lazy, but like I said before, it's probably good that I was forced to take a break, both mentally and physically. Marathon training is not for the faint of heart, and there are many days, esp. in the course of a 16-week training program, when I don't feel up to it.
Tonight was almost one of those nights. I didn't eat enough today, and starting off a 7-mile marathon pace run already short on energy doesn't make completing the workout any easier. And being on the tail end of an injury can't help any either. Actually, it was more that my splits were uneven than that I was running too slowly, but it was also that the challenging but not tough workout felt entirely too difficult. It was a beautiful night, esp. without the humidity, but...oh, what am I complaining about? It was a good workout. I'll shut up now, and admit to myself that I did a darn good job and that I'm well on my way to fufilling my marathon goals if I just take this one step at a time.
Good night all.
