7 pushups in 2 minutes=score of 46 (need 17/score of 60 to pass)
70 situps in 2 minutes=score of 87
15:57 for a 2 mile run=score of 96

Total score of 229 (240 needed to pass)-up from 212 2 months ago

And just for curiosity's sake, here's how I stack up against the men's times:

7 pushups in 2 minutes=score of 22 (need 20/score of 60 to pass)
70 situps in 2 minutes=score of 87
15:57 for a 2 mile run=score of 67 (need 13:00 for a perfect 100)

Total score of 176 (whoops)

The coolest part is that my 2 mile time is only 21 seconds off my time from last summer, and that was in a race where it's always easier to run faster. I guess my weight training is balancing out my skimpy mileage lately. I can't wait to see what I can do this summer!

I didn't test myself today--I will when I can actually make it to the track on a relatively dry day and really go after the 2-mile, complete with spikes. But you're obviously making huge improvements. Again, bravo. :-)

Go you! Your 2-mile run time is fast...how fast does it need to get a perfect 100 for women's ranks? I've been a complete slacker for anything that requires me to go outdoors. I do pushups and situps whenever I remember (once every 7-10 days) but I haven't run a timed 2 miles in a long time. I'm getting slower. I think I would estimate mine as 19 minutes now. *sigh* But my pushups and situps are in good order. I don't even have weather as an excuse since it's been pretty mild overall. Well, middle of a snowstorm today but really it's been nice for a lot of days. Glad your training is paying off!

Thanks. :-)

I had a perfect 100 score with my 2 mile time last summer which was 15:36. Hopefully I can blow that time out of the water this summer.

Have you tried the pushup/situp 2 minute tests lately?

I just tried timing myself. I got 36 pushups and 61 situps. and realistically, my 2-mile run is probably between 19 and 20 minutes by now. It's been a while since I've run. I still walk and am active doing things around the house...just probably not that aerobic.

I just saw this online, bravo to you all for your efforts. I used to run PFT's all the time. Then I got the news to lay off running for awhile (my knees needed a break) so I stopped running for 2 years. Just now starting back up and feeling good. I just did a PFT on Monday.

Scores:
2 mile run- 17:20 = 82 pts.
2:00 P/U- 52 = 100 pts.
2:00 S/U- 87 = 100 pts.

Overall of 282 pts.

According to the men's standards:
2 mile- 17:20= 52 pts
P/U- 52= 74 pts
S/U- 87= 100 pts

Overall men's score: 226
The running is slowing me down though. I used to run maybe 14 miles a day, and the 2 mile in 15:00 and under. Now, since time off and smoking took it's toll, I'm slowing down. Oh well.

For your own info, you only need 180 to pass the PFT, as long as you get 60% in all 3 categories you will pass. I know people that skated by on that. Aim for the 300 and things will be great. I did 300 at home several times, and during the 2 PFT's at basic I scored on as 300+ and the other at 290. Aim higher and your scores will be even better. Good luck!

Keep up the good work! Being fit is one of the best things in life you can do for yourself!
