I cannot believe that I forgot about class this evening. If it wouldn't have been for Christine checking her watch 'cause she used to have 6 pm classes, I just wouldn't have gone. Not because it's not interesting or anything, but because this long weekend completely threw off my schedule-not that I had much of a schedule to begin with seeing as I've only been back to school for a week and a half.
Yuck. It's so humid down here I can hardly breathe, let alone sleep. Anyone know a doctor who'll write a release note for AC? It's kinda hard to study and run when you can't breathe or sleep.
Anyway, I got some new posters today at the poster sale-including one of the NYC skyline pre-9/11. Kinda weird-amazing how much our world has changed in 3 years, isn't it? Amazing how much I've changed in 3 years-I had barely started college at that point. Everyone but the seniors here was still in high school at that turning point-I think it was all the more powerful and scary because we were away from home and at college for the first time. I can't wait to run the Run to Remember in Baltimore this weekend-one of my favorite races where we got to throw flowers at the policemen near the Baltimore Trade Center tower. Hopefully they'll be a god turnout-it's on a Saturday and at 8:45, not 7 am. Cool t-shirts too.
Okay, back to reading. Reading about torture and African cultures and the theory of history and slave systems. Fascinating stuff, actually.
